Step into a pivotal role where innovation meets efficiency. As the Equipment Design Manager in our dynamic Pre-Pack Next Gen department, lead the charge in transforming our packing processes through innovative mechanical design, automation and digitalization. Drive technological advancements that will double our output per square meter, setting new standards in operational excellence!

Core Responsibilities

As the Pre pack, equipment design manager at the LEGO Group, you will put your efforts to design equipment fully integrated with automation and digitalization, which are crucial for improving efficiency and quality in packing processes.

In short for this position – You will be working with a strong team of packing specialists architects and design the packing equipment for the future that will enable up to 2 X output/m2.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop prototypes, concepts and combine technical solutions and ensure feasibility of technical solutions and perform tests
  • Drive and make specifications and concreate interface specifications between equipment streams where correlation.
  • Responsible for own assigned workstream output, time, quality and cost
  • Describe and document technical solutions
  • Support the other team members in sketching solutions, make concepts, etc
  • Collaborating with cross functional stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for equipment solutions

  • Ensure compliance to the LEGO Group standards
  • Ensure maintainability in design
  • Ensure environmental health and safety
  • Ensure scalability of solutions
  • Ensure TRL and MRL (technology & manufacturing readiness level)
  • Validate output

The Research and Development (R&D) Pre-Pack Next Gen department are dedicated to drive innovation and exploring advanced solutions that align with the organization's strategic goals. This department will focus on developing cutting-edge technologies and processes that enhance product offerings, improve operational efficiency, and respond to market demands.

We aim to 2 x the output / m2 in Pre-Pack halls vs. 2027 paper output. In the coming business plan period

Do you have what it takes

The ideal candidate comes with proven experience working with equipment design and design solutions and experience with Siemens NX or similar 3D programs

Moreover, they are:

  • Is motivated by designing technical solutions on the computer
  • Use the magination and being creative
  • Role modelling/Great teammate – we win together
  • Works structured and systematic
  • Experience with leadership qualities.
  • Proficient in English
  • Willingness to travel up to 20 days/year as internal P&P teams are based in Kladno, Billund and Jiaxing, suppliers spread across Europe, to support collaboration and smooth project implementation.
