Core Responsibilities

Lead and facilitate the element design process from ideation phase to final product by translating and implementing the creative design direction. Own and drive the element planning process and partner management – delivering new LEGO® elements through a team of element designers.

Collaborate closely with Creative leads, Engineering team, and other internal partners to deliver new LEGO parts. Work on partner management, enabling a smooth design process with our collaborators. Focus on innovation, new play experiences and results. Drive several projects simultaneously.

Element Design is the key department in the development of new LEGO bricks. We are passionate about refining ideas and designs into real bricks. The department brings key innovation, new bricks and parts to the full LEGO portfolio.

Element Design department is delivering key innovation, new elements into LEGO experiences, responsible for over 350 elements per portfolio year.

Do you have what it takes?

The ideal candidate for this position has a background and experience in leading design processes from start to finish. Relevant education in a design-related field, such as Product Design or Industrial Design, would be a plus.

In addition, knowledge of 3D software that is allowing you to understand and collaborate with designers is an advantage.

Knowledge of Injection Moulding processes is also an advantage, to ensure successfully manufactured designs. Finally, experience with project management and partner management is a plus, as you will be working with a team of designers, engineers, and manufacturers to bring designs to life.

Overall, we are looking for someone with a passion for design and a strong understanding of the design process as well as indirect team management. You possess the skills and experience vital to build beautiful and functional products that meet the needs and desires of children.

Moreover, we expect you to:

  • Show good communication skills as well as promoting collaboration across functional areas
  • Possess high level of confidence and determination, challenging status quo or to push back when needed
  • Proactively handle obstacles with a can-do demeanor
  • Demonstrate leadership and influential skills, having a deep understanding of team dynamics and encouraging a strong feedback culture
  • Be able to translate verbal input into concrete visual cues
  • Hold a proficiency level in English, both oral & written.
