Core Responsibilities 

Collaborating closely with your colleagues in Legal Compliance and Risk Management department (LCR) and the newly established BSO Legal Operations team, you will: 

  • Develop and continually improve the LEGO Group’s global contract and template governance framework, taking into account (or rather “considering”) the company’s strategic priorities and legal risk appetite 

  • Set the strategic direction for contract content, structure, and standardization 

  • Functionally lead the development of legal positions across contract types, implementing these positions in relevant templates, playbooks, guidance notes, policies, and processes. This includes leading internal work groups and coordinating with external counsel and oversee decisions on approval workflows and processes 

  • Drive, scope or be an active participant in of strategic global projects relating to the contract framework, new technologies including the roll-out of new global templates, processes, Contract Lifecycle Management program, implementation of new technologies and generative AI tools 

  • Develop and implement contract training programs. 

  • Promote upskilling initiatives on contract literacy and governance awareness. 

  • Act as a key liaison between LCR and the BSO Legal Operations team, and the internal clients of our business units. 

Play your part in our team succeeding 

As part of the global LCR team, your will play a key part of providing legal services to the LEGO Group in close collaboration with our BSO Legal Operations team. You will join the Legal Tech, Operations, and Transformation team, concentrating on a recently established contract oversight and templates role. This team further drives work with efficiency, innovation & digitalization efforts. 

Reporting to the head of Legal Tech, Operations and Transformation, the Contract governance and strategy lead drives contract governance within the LCR department, shaping contract content, structure, and lifecycle management. 

The successful candidate will drive consistency, clarity, and efficiency in contract practices, ensuring alignment with legal standards, business needs, and operational excellence. 

Do you have, what it takes? 

  • Legal law school degree combined with relevant in-house experience or in a commercial function. 

  • Extensive knowledge of contract law, risk management, and legal technology gained through experience in a multinational corporation or a private law firm (minimum 7 years). 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, including change leadership and project management. 

  • Senior stakeholder engagement and influence. 

  • Highly collaborative, with a curious attitude and a “can do” approach. 

  • Critical thinking and commercial competence. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Other languages are a plus. 

Great if you also can tick some of the other bullets as well: 

  • Familiarity with legal technology tools, adept at recognizing problems, streamlining processes for improved efficiency. 

  • Familiarity with contract law in various jurisdictions, encompassing common law, is advantageous. 

  • Proficiency and background in handling a diverse array of commercial contracts, such as customer-centric (sales) contracts, supplier-focused (procurement) contracts, collaborative agreements, and partnership contracts, and more. 

  • Interest in engaging in fun team events, those endorsed by the company, or as a component of our community engagement program.
