Core Responsibilities

The Account Manager oversees selected licensing partner relationships across three main areas:


Retail Development:

  • Collaborate on Retail Strategy with Go-to-Market and licensing partners.

  • Support pitching efforts to retail accounts.


Portfolio Development:

  • Develop new product concepts with the Publishing Team.

  • Secure timely partner publishing plans with the Editorial Manager.

  • Assist in brick elements briefing with Design and Project Manager.

  • Develop Business Cases for projects, collaborating with Licensing Manager.

  • Prepare Gate presentations with the Publishing Team.

  • Deliver final portfolio in Blueprint format with relevant teams.


Daily Business and Partner Management:

  • Engage proactively with licensing partners and internal partners to drive strategy and achieve KPIs.

  • Secure and update partner financial forecasts with market insights.

  • Review NPS scores and act as needed.

  • Facilitate partner onboarding and ensure compliance.

  • Coordinate cross-functional communication and execution.

  • Conduct business development and gap analysis with the Publishing Team.

  • Manage rights and custom sales development and approval.

  • Handle trade show presence and schedule.

  • Approve marketing assets with Editorial and Global Marketing.

  • Develop presentations as needed.

  • Archive and distribute samples.

  • Up to 10% of travel is required.

The Publishing team is part of the LEL organization which focuses on enriching and extending the LEGO portfolio to predominately non-brick categories, as we seek to deliver relevant products that surround LEGO play to foster creative play culture!

The Account Manager plays a critical role in the operations and success of the Publishing Team, participating in the decision-making process influencing both strategy and daily operations. Working in close collaboration with Head of Publishing, Licensing Manger and the entire Publishing Team and multiple internal partners.


Do you have what it takes?

To be successful in the Account Manager role, you should have:

  • Extensive experience as Manager (Account, Retail Development) in a large, highly matrixed organization, ideally in the Publishing industry.

  • Proven partner and customer management skills.

  • Ability to drive important metric results and set priorities against deadlines.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Proficient in English; advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% and participate in overseas calls outside working hours.

  • Dedication to hybrid work policy: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment.
