Data Scientist for Defence decision-support tool

The job

As our new Data Scientist in SitaWare Insight, you will:

• Co-develop solution with LLMs, RAGs and Agents
• Work with protecting critical infrastructure using everything from machine learning to AI,
• Find and clean datasets and work with none trivial data,
• Take part in model development (selection, training and evaluation),
• Ensure strong model evaluation based on documented specifications,
• Collaborate closely with your new colleagues working on MLOps,
• Take part in model deployment, including gathering test data for smoke test automation
• Monitoring performance in production.

Joining the team

Leveraging advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies, SitaWare Insight automates the processing and analysis of complex, multi-source data. This empowers military commanders to rapidly detect patterns, identify emerging threats, and anticipate operational trends, thereby improving situational awareness and operational tempo. Joining SitaWare Insight, you will be joining a team with colleagues covering roles in project and people management, product management, software architecture, software development (including MLOps and data science) and system testing. All of your new colleagues are located together in our office in Aarhus.

Your qualifications

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist with a theoretical foundation from a Master’s degree, or maybe even a PhD, in computer science, statistics, data science or similar, and some years of experience working as a Data Scientist.

We do expect the successful candidate to have:

• Demonstrated expertise in training and deploying machine learning models,
• Programming skills in languages, tools and frameworks commonly used in data science (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch),
• Experience in Data Preprocessing and Feature Engineering,
• Experience with database technologies and knowledge of how to manage and storage data,
• Computer science skills to support the overall development of the data science service,
• Experience with MLOps principles for delivering production level quality,
• Solid understanding of test, documentation and visualization of data-driven solutions,
• Some experience with frontend development for prototype demoing (Streamlit, Dash, Dashboards),
• A strong command in spoken and written English.
