Student Assistant – Business Development

We offer

This is a student assistant position based at our office in Nordhavn, Copenhagen. You will work approximately 15–20 hours per week with flexibility around your studies.

You will become part of Svitzer’s European Commercial Team, working primarily with the Business Development Manager but also closely with colleagues across functions including Operations, Finance, and Technical. The role provides direct exposure to how strategic decisions are developed and executed in a global maritime company.

You will be given responsibility from day one and will support ongoing projects as well as take ownership of defined tasks. The position is designed to provide relevant experience, enabling you to learn and growth as part of your time with Svitzer.

Key responsibilities

As a Student Assistant in Business Development, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development of business cases, including financial modelling and investment analysis

  • Conducting market research and analysis related to new port opportunities, concessions, and energy transition initiatives and translating this into market overviews and competitor analyses

  • Assisting in the preparation of presentations and decision material for senior management

  • Supporting tender and concession processes, including data gathering and coordination

  • Contributing to internal strategic projects and ad hoc analyses

  • Supporting administrative and coordination tasks related to ongoing projects

  • Owning monthly reporting tasks

  • Supporting Commercial Managers with contract negotiations ad hoc.

We are looking for

You are ideally about to complete your bachelor’s degree and planning to start your master’s degree after the summer, preferably within Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field, or you are already on your master’s with minimum 1 year left before graduation.

Beyond your academic background, we are looking for someone who fits well into a small team and contributes positively to the working environment. You are motivated, curious and asks questions if you encounter a challenge. You are structured and able to work independently while maintaining a high level of quality. You have a positive and proactive attitude, and, most importantly, you like to have fun at work.

In addition, you bring:

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • A structured approach and the ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Solid Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

  • A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership and follows through on tasks.

Please note that you must hold a valid permit allowing you to work in Denmark.
