We are now looking for a skilled and motivated Strategy Manager to help us deliver on our ambitious agenda and to join us in building the future by helping others build theirs. Reporting to the EVP, Group Chief Strategy Officer, you’ll play a central role in our B2B building materials distribution journey, taking part in driving strategy processes from start to finish, supporting on important initiatives, and collaborating closely with our executive management and one of the world’s leading private equity partners as part of an impactful Group Strategy & Business Development function.

 

What to look forward to

Some of the things you will be doing are:

  • Co-facilitate end-to-end strategic work and help with the strategy update/review processes.

  • Building and following up on our group-wide strategy and pipeline, enabling the business to hit our targets and business plans.

  • Working with local business units enabling them to build and improve transparency/visibility of performance, value creation captures as well as key initiatives.

  • Lead broader transformation plans and projects preparing for an upcoming exit process.

  • Explore new strategic opportunities including new growth verticals and performance enhancements.

  • Alongside with your peers in the Group Strategy office, you will look after high-impact initiatives such as AI, sustainability, digitalisation, and advancement of our distribution platform.

  • Preparing clear, actionable recommendation to senior executives, board, and owners, as well as presenting to senior executives.

  • Engage and share best practice with top strategy professionals (ex. Management consultants and investment bankers) across Europe as a member of STARK Group’s Business Development community.

You will be based at our HQ in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen, working in an agile and well-functioning central team of six people alongside top executives, ex management consultants, and specialists. Expect about 10-20 travel days per year.

 

How to thrive

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • 2-5 years’ experience in management consultancy or a relevant strategic role in a larger international company.

  • A strong academic background such as a master’s degree in Strategy, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field with top results.

  • Bonus points for work experience from the B2B distribution industry ideally with own stores and logistics setup or similar B2C business.

  • Fluency in a Nordic language and English (German is a plus).

  • Enjoy and can balance work in the “machine room” with leading discussions with the senior executive team.

You are a structured problem-solver with a curious mindset, looking to learn and deliver impact regardless of topical task. You thrive in dynamic environments, are a strong team-player, have a positive, pragmatic attitude – and enjoy a sense of humour!
