Are you driven by creating measurable business impact through data? At STARK Group IT, we’re looking for a Senior Data Management Specialist to accelerate how we turn data into a strategic performance driver across countries and business units.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of building a high-performing data governance framework that ensures our data is accurate, trusted, and ready for use - powering better decisions and faster execution. You’ll define global standards and KPIs that improve data quality and efficiency, drive adoption of our enterprise data catalogue, and embed governance into how we design and deliver data products.

You will collaborate with architects, integration leads, and business stakeholders to ensure data directly enables AI, BI, and digital transformation initiatives - creating tangible value for our customers and the business.
Your Impact: What You Will Do and Deliver
You’ll be part of the Data Management team in STARK Group IT consisting of 7 people, with the majority based in Aarhus and flexibility between working onsite and from home. You will work closely with colleagues across IT, architecture, and business - many located internationally - so much of your collaboration will be online. Together, you will ensure that we not only use the right data but use it right.

A key part of your role will be embedding governance into project delivery, helping teams apply data standards without slowing down execution.
In this role, you will be a success, when you:
Lead the development of scalable data governance and management frameworks that guide how data is managed across STARK Group - from source systems to trusted data products. These frameworks are essential for building trust in data and supporting our digital transformation. You will collaborate with architects and business leads to ensure the frameworks are practical, widely adopted and properly monitored.
Are the key driver behind making our data catalogue a central platform for data discovery, lineage, and governance by onboarding users, contribute to enrich metadata structure, and promoting catalogue adoption. You will help teams find and trust the data they need to make informed decisions.
Take responsibility for reviewing and responding to data requests from business and IT teams to ensure they receive relevant and reliable data. This involves investigating data availability, source systems, and quality of the requested data, and coordinating with stakeholders to clarify needs and expectations.
Empower teams to work with data in a consistent and compliant way by creating templates, playbooks, and training materials. Consult with projects to embed standards into delivery, without direct hands-on remediation.

The role is based in Aarhus, Viby J, with an expected travel of up to 20 days a year.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity and can create structure where others see complexity. You likely bring:
Extensive experience in data governance and management within complex, multi-functional organizations.
Proven ability to design and implement enterprise-wide frameworks and standards that enable consistency, quality, and compliance.
Basic understanding of data modelling, metadata management, and integration.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills - able to connect and influence across organisational layers.
Familiarity with Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, and agile methodologies is a plus.
A broad perspective beyond Master Data, focusing on how data can be structured, governed, and shaped into reusable products that can deliver business value.

By joining the Data Management team at STARK Group IT, you’ll become part of an open-minded, collaborative, and impact-driven team that forms the foundation of STARK’s digital transformation. We’re not just building governance - we’re building trust in data, enabling smarter decisions, and shaping the future of how data drives value across our business.

We also believe that great collaboration happens both inside and outside the office. As part of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to join various social activities - whether it’s a shared lunch, team events, staff association events or just celebrating our wins.

Welcome to Group IT
When joining Group IT, you will be joining a digital transformation journey as we replace our legacy monoliths and transition towards a modular and flexible integrated setup. Group IT, a dynamic and rapidly evolving part of STARK Group, is responsible for delivering group-wide business-critical IT solutions. We aim to modernize and reimagine the IT landscape to ensure both scalability and composability to meet existing and future business needs, and we would like your input to rethink the way things are done in our industry to offer our customers an extraordinary experience.
