Your role

 

As a Product Owner at Specsavers, you will be responsible for maximising the value delivered through your products across the Northern European markets. You will lead the product vision, roadmap, and delivery — working closely with stakeholders and development teams to make sure we build solutions that bring real business impact.

You’ll act as the single point of contact for product content, planning, and prioritisation. With a strong understanding of agile ways of working, you ensure continuous delivery of value, always keeping the end-user at the heart of decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and release plan, ensuring clear communication to all stakeholders.
  • Prioritise and maintain a well‑structured backlog focused on delivering business value.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure smooth, agile delivery.
  • Engage stakeholders across Northern Europe to align needs, manage expectations, and drive transparency.
  • Lead product discovery and continuous improvement activities to enhance the end‑user experience.
  • Balance new development, maintenance, and decommissioning across the full product lifecycle.

You’ll join our Northern Europe Technology function — a collaborative, ambitious, and supportive team responsible for building and maintaining the systems that keep our business running. We work across regions and disciplines, and you will be part of a community that values innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

 

 

What are we looking for?

 

We are preferably looking for someone who has the following qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working closely with software development teams (local and offshore).
  • Understanding of modern product practices, usability, and discovery methods.
  • Ability to navigate complex retail and technology environments.
  • A solid understanding of how digital products are built.

 

I’d be nice to that you have the following:

  • Experience with retail technology or operational digital tools.
  • Background in product management, service design, or user‑centred design.
  • Experience with live testing or pilots in store environments.
  • Familiarity with agile delivery practices.
  • A Product Owner certification (PSPO, CSPO) or equivalent.
