About Spaak
At Spaak, we partner with leading public affairs teams to keep them at the cutting edge of AI.
We started Spaak with the belief that AI would redefine how policy is developed and influenced. Our AI-native platform for public affairs professionals improves workflows across political monitoring, document drafting, deep research, and more.
We build, test, and iterate directly alongside practitioners to turn AI development into leverage for public affairs professionals. The goal is simple: better decisions, sooner, with less noise.
Joining Spaak means being surrounded every day by experienced political consultants, exceptional software engineers, and startup operators. We truly believe we’re helping public affairs professionals enter a new era, and we’re deeply invested in making that change happen.
The Spaak team operates out of Copenhagen and Brussels, with more cities to come.
You'll be Spaak's first finance hire - the person who builds the financial backbone of a fast-growing, multi-entity AI company from the ground up.
We're scaling rapidly across multiple European markets and need someone who can own everything from the first invoice to the first board-ready financial model. This is not a support role. You'll work directly with the founders, touch every part of the business, and have real influence over how Spaak is run and how it grows.
Own the end-to-end quote-to-cash process: invoicing, collections, and dunning across customers in multiple markets
Run billing in compliance with local regulations across our entities
Work closely with the commercial team to support deal structuring, contract terms, and revenue recognition
Manage our books across multiple legal entities (Denmark, Belgium, and more to come)
Coordinate with external accounting firms for fast month-end closing, tax filings, and audit readiness
Take ownership of our accounting stack - evaluate and implement the right tools as we scale
Build and maintain financial models for planning, scenario analysis, and fundraising
Produce clean, board-ready reporting and investor updates
Develop metrics and dashboards that give leadership real-time visibility into the health of the business
Set up the foundational processes, policies, and controls that can grow with us
Own tooling decisions across AP, AR, expense management, and reporting
Be a true financial partner to every team - from product to commercial to ops
You have 2–5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related role, with exposure to high-growth, startup environments
You're rigorous about numbers but pragmatic and focused on impact, not perfection
You're self-driven - you take ownership and move without waiting for direction
You have experience with (or a strong appetite for) multi-entity and multi-country accounting
You're comfortable in modern finance tooling and can build a model in your sleep
You're humble, collaborative, and focused on what's best for the team and the business
You're genuinely excited to be the first finance person and want to build something from scratch
What you’ll get:
Truly meaningful and exciting work: You’ll help our incredibly skilled customers move into a future AI-driven era
Incredibly skilled colleagues: We are gathering a team of A-players to be your colleagues
Front-row seat at a fast-growing company: You'll learn from being part of an exciting, but hard, journey of scaling a company in a complex space.
Competitive compensation: Competitive salary, benefits, and opportunities to grow.
