Interim Maternity Cover: contract end-date: June, 2027 

Model of work: hybrid (minimum of 2 days at Warsaw or Copenhagen office / a week)

Why this role is important to us  

Head of Risk Management at SimCorp is a senior leadership role responsible for defining, leading, and continuously enhancing the organization’s global Risk Management, Internal Controls, and Insurance frameworks. This includes setting strategic direction, ensuring operational excellence, and embedding risk-informed decision making across the enterprise.  

The role works closely with senior leadership, business units, and Group functions to align risk practices with corporate strategy, business goals, and regulatory expectations while promoting a forward-looking and accountable culture of risk management. 

Risk Team is divided into 5 main areas: Risk Partners (4 risk partners), Risk Methodology and Reporting (2 team members), Process & Internal Controls Team (3 team members), Financial Compliance & Controls (3 team members). 

What you will be responsible for  

Strategic Risk Leadership 

  • Owns the development and implementation of SimCorp’s enterprise-wide risk management, ensuring alignment with business objectives and Group requirements. 

  • Serves as an advisor to senior leadership, providing insights into risk exposure, business impacts to manage or optimize risks. 

Internal Controls & Governance 

  • Oversees development and implementation of SimCorp’s internal control systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and Group requirements. 

Business Integration & Advisory 

  • Collaborates with business units to ensure that risk management policies and procedures are understood, adopted, and embedded in daily operations. 

Risk Reporting & Transparency 

  • Develops and oversees risk reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate quarterly reporting to senior management, Audit and Risk Committee, Group CRO. 

Culture, Training & Awareness 

  • Oversee the implementation of risk management training programs, promoting a risk-aware culture across the organization. 

Incident & Crisis Management 

  • Oversees the implementation of the incident reporting process and supports effective governance and processes around incident resolution. 

  • Is a member of the Crisis Management Team and supports the crisis management process, ensuring readiness, scenario planning, and post‑incident learning. 

People Leadership & Operating Model 

  • Manages and mentors the risk management team (12 team members in total), providing guidance and development opportunities to ensure effective performance and alignment with organizational goals. 

  • Ensures a fit-for-purpose target operating model, capabilities roadmap, and functional priorities aligned with SimCorp’s growth and strategic direction. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Assurance Model 

  • Enforces alignment and close collaboration with other 2nd and 3rd lines of defense to ensure the model is embedded in the organization. 

Additional Responsibilities 

  • Supports initiatives related to adjacent areas such as the People Safety Framework. 

  • Is part of the CFO Leadership Team and contributes to CFO-area priorities and initiatives. 

  • Ensures alignment with the Group and the Group CRO, maintaining clear communication and consistent enterprise-wide standards.

  • You can design, refine, and implement a fitfo rpurpose operating model for the Risk function. Beyond defining frameworks and processes, you ensure that they are adopted, scaled, and embedded across the enterprise.
