This is about scaling up our current engineering success in software engineering deliveries as well as team engagement level.

Why this role is important for us

Product Development is a major part of SimCorp, where software engineering teams work relentlessly towards producing world class solutions. Engineering Managers are leading these teams, and they are key to our success. We are building and evolving Private Debt, a high-priority project for SimCorp right now and we are expanding the area to meet increasing client demand and deliver more outcomes.

What you will be responsible for

  • You are the leader of 1-2 teams of Software Engineers with responsibility for growing and upskilling your team through 1:1s, feedback, mentoring, coaching, and goal setting
  • You have a responsibility for both the short-term deliverables in the sprints and the long-term improvements of your team(s)
  • You are responsible for fostering a healthy working environment for your teams
  • You work closely with your peers in both Engineering Management and Product Management to understand and refine the customer outcomes that you and your teams are responsible for delivering
  • You collaborate with other leaders to deliver cross area initiatives, and to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency where needed
  • You understand and define relevant engineering metrics to gain insight into your team’s performance and to help drive improvement
  • You are responsible for the planning and the delivery of the outcomes of your teams

What we value

Most importantly, you can see yourself contributing and thriving in the position described above. We expect you to have experience in some of the following and be able to - and interested in - learning the rest.

  • Ownership and Resourcefulness: Taking end‑to‑end ownership of outcomes, proactively navigating ambiguity and constraints, and finding pragmatic solutions together with your stakeholders.
  • People leadership: Leading and growing software engineers and teams, creating an environment where people can perform, learn, and thrive.
  • Hiring & team growth: Staffing, making high-quality hires, and running effective onboarding and upskilling to scale a team sustainably.
  • Engineer at heart: A solid relevant background and sufficient technical depth to understand what the team is doing day-to-day and guide decisions. Support engineering excellence in the area by helping the team make sound decisions around quality, maintainability, delivery discipline, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with Product Management (to align priorities and deliver meaningful outcomes) and People & Culture (to build healthy and high-performing teams).
  • Domain Knowledge: Develop enough Private Debt domain understanding to actively take part in daily decisions around functionality, priorities, trade-offs, and solution direction from both a business and technical perspective.
  • Positive and Calm Leadership: You bring a positive, calm, and constructive mindset, particularly in moments of pressure or change, helping teams stay focused and confident.
