If this sounds like somewhere you want to grow, we'd love to hear from you.

The Business Controlling team at Shine

Over the next year we will create a best-in-class business finance unit, automate reporting cycles and build a team where we spend our time creating insights to help the business grow and evolve, to ensure we deliver and exceed our top-line targets.

Your role as a Head of Business Controlling

As Head of Business Controlling, you will lead an international, multi country controlling organization and play a central role in shaping how the business understands performance, makes decisions, and tells its financial story. You will own the integrity of topline reporting, KPI frameworks, and decision support, while acting as a trusted partner to senior leaders across the organization.

This role combines strategic oversight, people leadership, and hands on financial excellence in a fast moving, international environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking full ownership of internal topline reporting across markets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and clarity.

  • Ensure leadership has a reliable, decision‑ready view of revenue, growth drivers, and performance trends.

  • Turn complex data into clear insights that support decision‑making at all levels.

  • Deliver spot on analysis of KPI developments and ensure visibility on our performance.

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a multi‑country controlling team.

  • Build a strong team culture based on trust, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Actively coach senior controllers and managers to raise the overall bar of business partnering.

  • Drive continuous improvement in controlling processes, reporting structures, and analytical tooling.

  • Champion automation, simplification, and scalable ways of working.

  • Ensure the controlling function evolves with the business.

  • Lead the month‑end narrative, ensuring performance results are clearly explained and understood.

  • Connect actuals, trends, and outlook into a coherent story for leadership and stakeholders.

  • Ensure consistency between numbers, insights, and messaging.

📍 Job located in Copenhagen or Berlin, with possibility of two remote working days per week

About you

  • Background from top‑tier environments (e.g. complex international organizations, scale‑ups, or high‑performance finance teams).

  • Deep expertise in business controlling, performance management, and financial analysis.

  • Proven experience leading senior teams across countries and cultures.

  • A master of Power Point or Google Slides and of course a true super user in excel & google sheets.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, not just hierarchy.

  • Comfortable operating with ownership and accountability in fast‑moving environments.

  • Strong values‑based leadership style with a focus on people development.

  • Lead with clarity, empathy, and high standards.

  • Create psychological safety while holding teams accountable for outcomes.

  • Role‑model ownership, integrity, and collaboration across borders.

  • High data fluency with the ability to connect systems, KPIs, and insights.

  • Strong structured communication skills — able to explain complex topics clearly and convincingly.

  • Confident storyteller who can translate numbers into business impact.

  • Excellent English (written and spoken).

  • French, German, Spanish is a plus.
