Senior Software Engineer (macOS, Hybrid)

Job summary

The role involves designing and building advanced features for observability and performance insights on macOS, focusing on system telemetry and data collection at scale. The position requires strong expertise in macOS internals and system development to enhance monitoring capabilities integrated with the operating system.

Qualifications

• Over 5 years of experience in building systems-level applications with a deep understanding of OS internals and architecture.
• Proven experience in shipping software on macOS at scale.
• Hands-on experience with native macOS APIs and system-level capabilities.
• Familiarity with macOS services such as launchd-managed services and privacy models.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Objective-C, and/or Swift, with experience in macOS build and packaging tools.
• Ability to deliver features in a fast-paced environment and solve customer-centric problems.
• Experience using AI coding tools effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement macOS Agent-based integrations for system, network, and security monitoring.
• Develop comprehensive observability features using macOS native technologies.
• Lead feature development from ideation to deployment across enterprise environments.
• Address challenges in system programming and endpoint observability.
• Optimize software for performance and resource efficiency.
• Influence product decisions and mentor other engineers.

Skills

• Strong understanding of macOS internals and system architecture.
• Experience with system-level macOS services and components.
• Proficiency in relevant programming languages and tools.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in software engineering or a related field.

Tools

• Familiarity with Golang and cross-platform software development is a plus. Experience with agent-based observability software is also beneficial.
