Job summary

The role involves driving innovation in natural strain improvement for industrial lactic acid bacteria, focusing on developing microbial biosolutions for the Dairy sector. The position requires collaboration with various R&D teams to enhance strain development and application testing.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in strain development.
  • Expertise in milk chemistry and performance optimization in fermented milk systems.
  • Proven experience in innovative approaches to biological challenges.
  • Strong understanding of microbial physiology related to phenotype and performance.
  • Excellent experimental design and data analysis skills.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct natural strain improvement campaigns, including adaptive laboratory evolution and lead assessment.
  • Develop and implement innovative selection and screening methods using automation and high-throughput systems.
  • Drive innovation projects from concept to implementation, ensuring scientific quality.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation and contribute to IP generation.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support strain development and testing.
