Senior Game Engineer (Remote, Gaming Industry)

Job summary

The role involves contributing to the development of a hardcore fantasy extraction ARPG by creating and enhancing core systems and tools that support the development team. The position requires collaboration within a small team of experienced engineers to elevate the quality of the gaming experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop game infrastructure that balances technical robustness with creative freedom for designers.
• Optimize and expand the ECS-based game architecture for performance and flexibility.
• Integrate platform-specific functionalities across various platforms, including PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
• Collaborate on the architecture of client and cloud services through thoughtful design.

Qualifications

Pluses

• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in the gaming industry.
• Strong expertise in C#, including experience with unsafe code.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Unity3D.
• Comprehensive understanding of software design principles, problem-solving, and debugging.
• Experience across all stages of game development from prototyping to post-launch.
• Proven experience in developing cross-platform titles for PC and current-generation consoles.
• Familiarity with cloud-based game development, particularly using Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of networking for fast-paced multiplayer games.
• Interest in leveraging LLMs to enhance productivity and workflows.
• Experience with the MVVM architectural pattern.
• A passion for quality in all aspects of game development and a desire to uplift the team.
• A genuine love for games, understanding them from both a developer's and player's perspective.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in game development or related fields is preferred.

Tools

• Proficiency in Unity3D and C# is essential. Familiarity with cloud services and game development tools is advantageous.
