Do you want to strengthen Red Cross’ international humanitarian work?
The Danish Red Cross, in cooperation with the Faroe Islands Red Cross, is looking for a motivated colleague to join as a Humanitarian Professional.

We have the possibility to adjust the position to the candidate’s profile and level of experience. We are looking to match the candidate to one of three opportunities in either Ethiopia, Lebanon or Malawi. Your work will also help strengthen the bond between the Danish and Faroe Islands Red Cross, through communication and outreach in the Faroe Islands — which is why the ability to speak Faroese (or have a strong connection to the islands) is essential.

The aim is to make a difference for people living in complex and protracted crisis contexts. This is a collaborative effort between Danish and Faroe Island Red Cross supporting the local Red Cross or Red Crescent Society staff and volunteers to address local needs. Our focus areas include Health (Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, Non-Communicable Diseases), Disaster Management, and inclusion of marginalized groups. The potential areas of engagement are many, activating strategic initiatives of local led action, strengthening the partnership, data management, influencing the humanitarian agenda, and exploring new ways of funding (Innovative Financing).

About the position
You will be contributing to the Red Cross’ global work in humanitarian response, capacity building, and programme development.

Your tasks will be diverse and include:

  • Contributing to project and programme management, including planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting (PMER).
  • Supporting communication and documentation, including stories, SoMe content, visibility materials, and learning products.
  • Assisting with donor and partner relations, including reporting and development of new project proposals.
  • Coordinating visits and delegations, as well as providing ad hoc administrative and management support.

We have three opportunities covering different technical and geographical areas. Your technical experience and profile besides experience with the tasks above can be an advantage; health (cardiometabolic and non-communicable diseases) for Ethiopia, youth and resilience for Malawi, MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning) for Lebanon.

Candidates will be considered for all three profiles but kindly indicate and motivate your preferred opportunity when applying.
