Danish Red Cross (DRC) is looking for an experienced Mental Health and Psychosocial support (MHPSS) profile to be seconded to the IFRC headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world’s largest volunteer-based humanitarian network. The IFRC is served by a Secretariat based in Geneva, with regional and country offices throughout the world.
Along with National Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the IFRC is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The overall aim of the IFRC is to inspire, encourage, facilitate, and promote humanitarian activities by National Societies to prevent and alleviate human suffering and thereby contributing to the maintenance and promotion of human dignity and peace in the world.
The IFRC is committed to scaling up and addressing the Mental Health and Psychosocial support needs at all times including due to the consequences of armed conflicts, natural disasters and other emergencies. The MHPSS Officer will work in close collaboration with the IFRC Health and Care Department and the Movement MHPSS hub, supporting the Lead, Health Security and Community Resilience (IFRC Secretariat MHPSS Focal Point), primarily to ensure that the overall strategic direction and operationalization of MHPSS initiatives are achieved and well-coordinated internally with National Societies, relevant IFRC departments and teams, ICRC and externally with WHO and other key actors.
The MHPSS officer reports to the Global Lead, Health Security and Resilience Team in the IFRC Health and Care Department.

Employment Conditions
The position is based in Geneva, Switzerland and is initially for 12 months with the possibility of extension. The starting date is 1 April 2026 or as soon thereafter as possible. There is a 3-month probationary period.
The salary including all allowances and pension payment will be between DKK 52,000 and DKK 55,000 per month depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, an allowance towards accommodation costs in Geneva will be offered.
Travelling is expected for up to 3 months per year upon request of line manager.
