Portfolio Manager – Electrification for decarbonisation

You will join our team of engineers and project managers within Group Research & Development. We are a team of passionate, skilled and knowledgeable colleagues who develop the newest technologies for stone wool production. What you will be doing
As Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a portfolio of projects that support ROCKWOOL’s strategic objectives within electrification of melting technology and plasma-based solutions. You will:
Lead and manage a portfolio of projects that support ROCKWOOL’s strategic objectives within electrification of melting technology and plasma-based solutions, ensuring alignment, prioritisation and value creation across the portfolio.

Define portfolio missions, strategies and objectives in collaboration with the Portfolio Director and key stakeholders and translate end-user needs into clear portfolio objectives and development goals.
Identify new trends and directions within the area in initiate relevant cooperation with relevant parties (sub suppliers, Universities, innovative companies, knowledge centres)
Establish clear goals, roles and responsibilities, and secure strong follow-up on scope, time, cost and quality.
Ensure robust portfolio governance, including alignment with ROCKWOOL’s project management principles, solid business cases, budgets and timely reporting.
Monitor and analyse project and portfolio performance and proactively identify and mitigate risks, optimising the portfolio to maximise value and support ROCKWOOL’s business goals.
Support, challenge and mentor Project Managers, fostering a high-performance culture and effective collaboration across functions and locations.
Promote a strong safety mindset by sharing lessons learned and embedding best practices in all portfolio activities.
You can expect some travel, with trips varying from just a couple of days to a week at a time. You will travel primarily in Europe – mostly to meet with colleagues and suppliers, support Project Managers and to supervise the implementation of designs within your portfolio.
What you bring
You are an experienced portfolio manager with a strong technical foundation and a genuine interest in electrification and innovative production technologies. To succeed in this role, you bring:
A relevant technical degree, for example in Electrical, Energy or Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
Solid experience with project, programme and portfolio management, preferably from industrial production, process industries or a similar technical environment.
Experience with Agile and/or Lean methodologies and the ability to apply them in a project and portfolio context is an advantage.
Proven ability to handle complex stakeholders at different organisational levels and to drive cross-functional collaboration in an international context.
Good knowledge and understanding of production processes, ideally within energy-intensive or high-temperature technologies.
Strong understanding of portfolio governance, financials and business cases, and the ability to balance strategic overview with attention to critical details.
Excellent planning and leadership skills – you set direction, involve and motivate others and act as a mentor for Project Managers.
An innovative mindset and the sense of urgency, needed to stay in the front
Intercultural communication skills and fluency in English, spoken and written, at a high professional business level.
