Senior Manager for Embedded Software, R&D

Turn up the volume on your leadership career – help shape the embedded platforms supporting GN Hearing’s future products. We are looking for a Senior Manager for Embedded Software to head one of our core domains in GN Hearing’s Platform Development organization.

The team you will be part of:

You will be responsible for an embedded software line organization that designs, implements and maintains the firmware platforms used across all GN Hearing aids and accessories – including wireless streamers, chargers and next‑generation Audio devices. We played a key role in bringing Auracast™ to market and are known for our known for advanced Bluetooth LE Audio / Auracast solutions.

You will join the Operating Systems area, where we set the standards for how to develop robust, ultra‑low‑power embedded platforms (RTOS, drivers, connectivity stacks, security, services) that our products and platforms can safely be built on – consistently and at scale. We collaborate closely with inhouse IC, electronics and algorithms development on the core technologies.

Your contribution is appreciated, and you will:

• You will be part of the Operating Systems line management team and work closely with fellow line managers, Product Owners and our software architects to align architecture, people and roadmap
• Lead and develop a team of skilled embedded software engineers – with clear focus on growth, wellbeing and high performance
• Own and evolve relevant development processes, ways of working and engineering practices (e.g. CI, test automation, code quality) within your area
• Coordinate capacity planning, recruitment and development so the team is ready for future platforms and architectures
• Contribute to our SAFe Agile Release Train – removing impediments, supporting Scrum teams
• Live and promote GN’s commitments: being close to our customers, delivering on commitments, and creating a safe, collaborative environment where we succeed together
• There will be a range of options to lead domain initiatives, like technology exploration, test automation, continuous integration or use of AI tools

To perform well in the role, we imagine that you:

• Are motivated to work with people, organization, and domain leadership and make it happen
• Enjoy creating results together with others, take initiative, are solution-oriented and take pride in your work
• Communicate clearly and openly in English, and build trust with both engineers and stakeholders
• Are comfortable working in an agile environment (Scrum/SAFe) and collaborating across teams and functions
• Have a degree in engineering, computer science or similar – and solid experience within real-time embedded software development
• Bring experience as a people leader (e.g. team lead, manager or senior technical lead with line responsibilities) in a software or firmware context
• Understand how to build scalable, reusable embedded platforms with high quality and consistent test/CI discipline
