Job summary

A motivated research assistant is sought to contribute to computational audiology research within the Hearing Systems Section. This role focuses on linking biological profiles of hearing loss to perceptual outcomes and evaluating hearing-aid processing strategies, primarily through model-based approaches.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and test auditory models for normal and impaired hearing.
  • Analyze the impact of biological profiles of cochlear or neural damage on predicted perceptual outcomes.
  • Work with behavioral, audiological, and model-simulation data.
  • Develop model-based connections between biological endotypes and perceptual phenotypes.
  • Support literature reviews and scientific documentation in computational audiology and auditory profiling.
  • Prepare code, figures, and summaries for project use and publications.
  • Collaborate with researchers, PhD students, and faculty members.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and computational skills.
  • Experience with auditory modeling and data analysis.

Education

  • A master’s degree in engineering or a related field is required.

Tools

  • Familiarity with programming and modeling tools relevant to auditory research.
