Job summary

An internship opportunity is available for a student or recent graduate to work on a pioreactor-based cultivation platform, focusing on gas fermentation and strain development. The role involves hands-on experimentation and collaboration with experts in metabolic engineering and fermentation.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a university degree program in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemical Engineering, Biology, or a related field.
  • Available for full-time work for at least six months in Copenhagen.
  • Hands-on experience with microbial cultivation and fermentation.
  • Practical experience with small-scale bioreactors.
  • Familiarity with adaptive laboratory evolution (ALE) workflows.
  • Strong data analysis skills and comfort with data processing tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain the pioreactor platform for adaptive laboratory evolution and gas fermentation experiments.
  • Optimize gas fermentation processes and conduct media optimization studies.
  • Screen and validate engineered strains under various conditions.
  • Design and execute experiments using statistical approaches.
  • Document and communicate experimental data clearly.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure smooth data transfer and strain hand-off.
  • Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures for operations and workflows.

Skills

  • Hands-on experience with microbial cultivation and fermentation processes.
  • Data analysis and processing skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field or recent graduate.
