Piping Engineer

Your new role

We are searching for a highly skilled Piping Engineer to join our Power Generation engineering department. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, layout, and analysis of piping systems in power generation projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations while optimizing for cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency. This is an outstanding opportunity to join our multidisciplinary Power Generation department, a team with 18 experts, covering the disciplines Mechanical, Civil and Chemical Engineering. We already have two senior pipe engineering specialists within the department, which will create a unique opportunity for cooperation and knowledge sharing within this field of expertise.

 

 

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Develop detailed piping designs, specifications, and layouts using advanced engineering software and tools.
  • Conduct stress analysis and flexibility evaluations to ensure the integrity of piping systems under various conditions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, civil, process, and electrical engineers, to integrate piping designs with other project components.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings and documentation to ensure adherence to project requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support during the construction phase, addressing any design-related issues that arise.
  • Participate in project planning, cost estimation, and risk assessment activities to achieve project milestones on time and within budget.

 

About you

  • B.Sc or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in piping design and engineering from industries such as oil & gas, petrochemicals, or power generation.
  • Proficiency in using pipe stress analysis tools (e.g., RORH2, CAESAR II, ANSYS) and basic skills to navigate in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation).
  • Strong understanding of relevant piping codes and EN standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of piping materials, fabrication processes, and installation techniques.
  • Experience with pressure vessel design and related calculations.
  • Proficiency in thermal and hydraulic analysis of piping systems.
