Job Description

Are you passionate about applying ethical AI to create smarter, more intuitive digital products that empower the users of our products to have an even greater impact?
Do you get excited about exploring, building, and applying AI solutions that make data and insights more actionable, and that elevate user experiences?

  • With SurveyXact we help people generate insights about their most important stakeholders – such as customers, patients or citizens.
  • With PeopleXact we empower managers in organizations to improve the work life of their employees
  • With the Heart & Mind we support practitioners in daycare and schools with their work on ensuring quality and development for kids
  • With Navigator by Ramboll, we help companies navigate complex ESG regulations such as CSRD

At Ramboll, we work with sensitive data and are committed to keeping it safe – also when leveraging AI. We are on a mission to expand our SaaS product portfolio by taking them to the next level with AI-driven value creation and are therefore hiring multiple AI Engineers. Join us in shaping the future of digital tools that empower organizations across the Nordics and Europe.

Your role in the product team

As an AI Engineer, you’ll play a central role in exploring and implementing how AI can create value in our SaaS products. You will work hands-on to design and integrate AI features that make our products more intelligent, efficient, and impactful for users. Day to day, you’ll collaborate closely with Product Managers, Product Designers, Tech Leads, and Software Engineers while also engaging with subject matter experts and customer-facing teams to ensure that AI is used in ways that are meaningful, secure, and scalable.

We own an on-prem setup, capable of running and developing LLMs and primarily use open-source models that we can both adapt and fine-tune to fit our needs, but even more importantly, ensure data privacy for our customers. You’ll be part of shaping how we use, operate and scale these models responsibly in our SaaS products.

Become part of the TECH community

Besides your product team, you will also be part of our growing Tech organization (50 developers and designers) where impactful AI is a strategic focus area. You will join a collaborative environment that values experimentation, learning, and knowledge sharing—whether it’s through sparring with peers, testing new AI models, or contributing to shared frameworks and tools. We are in the early stages of our AI journey, so you will have a unique opportunity to shape not only features in our products but also our overall AI practices and capabilities.

What we are looking for

You most likely have a degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering or similar.

You thrive at the intersection of technology and value creation, with curiosity for what AI can do today—and tomorrow. You actively stay current with the rapidly evolving AI landscape and can translate emerging research into practical applications.

We value engineers who are pragmatic, innovative, and are teamplayers. Specifically, we’re looking for someone who has the following competencies:

  • LLM-based product development: Has experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions, preferably in a SaaS or product context. You are expected to have deep understanding of prompt engineering.
  • Evaluation & Monitoring: Experience with systematic evaluating LLM outputs and monitoring for e.g. latency and accuracy
  • AI Agents: Knowledge and experience with AI Agent concepts
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG): Experience designing and implementing RAG systems, including preparing and structuring data for effective use in AI/LLM products. Familiar with vector databases and embedding techniques for semantic search and knowledge retrieval.
  • Safety & Ethics: Committed to maintaining high data security standards, enforces strict guardrails, and adheres to ethical principles and responsible AI practices with unwavering integrity.
  • Experience with adapting open-source LLMs to specific domains, e.g. through parameter-efficient fine-tuning methods such as LoRA/QLoRA, is a strong advantage.
  • Proficient in relevant programming languages (such as Python or Java)

What we offer

Among many great things at Ramboll, we offer:

  • A foundation-owned company with a clear purpose to create a better world.
  • Competitive salary
  • To support your personal and professional development from day one, and an environment of professional sparring and learning among peers.
  • Flexible hybrid work model - work from home 2-3 days per week
  • Health insurance & pension scheme
  • 6th holiday week
  • Strong community with many social events in a young and dynamic environment.
  • Attractive lunch scheme in Aarhus' perhaps best canteen.
