Posted on: March 12, 2026

We are looking for a Quantum Software Engineer to bridge the gap between our QURI SDK and the world’s leading quantum hardware and HPC platforms. You will design and execute the integration layers that allow QURI-based algorithms to run seamlessly across diverse architectures—including photonic, ion trap, superconducting, and neutral atom systems.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role at the intersection of compiler engineering, runtime APIs, and platform integration. You will be the technical lead for our partnerships, ensuring performance and correctness on everything from cloud-based simulators to next-gen quantum processors.

Requirement

  • Work authorization: Permanent residence and the right to work in the EU/EEA/UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hardware & HPC Integration: Build and maintain execution backends for quantum hardware providers and cloud runtimes (e.g., job submission, telemetry, and hybrid HPC workflows).
  • API & Tooling Design: Maintain clean, high-performance Python (and Rust) interfaces. Own the reliability of the stack through automated testing and CI/CD for partner backends.
  • Technical Partnership: Act as the primary engineering contact for hardware partners, aligning roadmaps and debugging complex integration issues across distributed systems.

What We’re Looking For

  • Software Craftsmanship: 3–8+ years of experience shipping production-grade Python. You write code that is modular, tested, and maintainable.
  • Quantum Fluency: Solid understanding of quantum circuits, gates, and hardware constraints.
  • Integration Expertise: Comfortable working with APIs (REST/gRPC), authentication, and cloud-native execution patterns.

Bonus Points:

  • HPC Experience: a strong preference for candidates familiar with HPC workflows or batch schedulers (Slurm)
  • Proficiency in Rust for performance-critical runtimes.
  • Experience with HPC environments (Slurm, MPI, GPU clusters).
  • Compiler Foundations: Experience with IRs, optimization passes, or transpilation (routing, scheduling, gate-set mapping). Familiarity with the LLVM/MLIR ecosystem or QEC simulation.
