Job summary

This position involves investigating the biotransformation of secondary metabolites by soil microorganisms and their impact on microbial interactions and community assembly. The research will utilize synthetic microbial communities to explore the fate of metabolites in soil and their role in chemical communication among microorganisms.

Qualifications

  • PhD in microbiology, biotechnology, microbial ecology, or a related field.
  • Strong publication record in microbial chemical ecology and molecular microbiology.
  • Background in the function and fate of microbial secondary metabolites in communities.
  • Experience with experimental model systems for studying complex microbial communities.
  • Ability to integrate chemical, molecular, and community-level approaches.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
  • Teaching and supervision experience at the university level is preferred.
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills in English.
