Job summary

Qualifications

• PhD degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
• Strong background in microbial physiology, genome-scale modeling, and microbiology.
• Experience with computational modeling of anaerobic processes.
• Hands-on experience in anaerobic microbial cultivation.
• Knowledge of molecular and synthetic biology.
• Proficient in English, with skills in teaching and supervising BSc and MSc students.

Responsibilities

• Model microbial anaerobic metabolism for bulk biochemical production.
• Isolate and characterize anaerobic organisms for substrate metabolism.
• Design experiments for strain characterization through various analyses.
• Execute metabolic engineering approaches for selected organisms.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary research team.
• Publish research findings in high-impact journals and prepare project deliverables.
