About the role

Job summary

This position offers an opportunity to engage in high-throughput fungal phenotyping and biotechnology research as part of the RAPIDFUNG project, funded by Innovation Fund Denmark. The role involves working with fungal biology, robotics, and advanced experimental methods to explore the potential of filamentous fungi for biosolutions.

Qualifications

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent academic level.
  • Previous experience with fungi is advantageous but not required.
  • Familiarity with microbiology, molecular biology, metabolomics, mass spectrometry, robotics, automation, or high-throughput laboratory workflows is preferred.
  • Interest in data science and coding (e.g., Python/R) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Automating the cultivation and characterization of filamentous fungi.
  • Developing high-throughput assays for fungal physiology and metabolism.
  • Collaborating on metabolite analysis and library construction.
  • Analyzing large datasets from robotics, imaging, and cultivation platforms.
  • Contributing to AI-tool development for predicting strain performance.
  • Translating biological hypotheses into publishable research.

Education

  • A master's degree in a relevant field is required.

Tools

  • Experience with high-throughput laboratory technologies and data analysis tools is beneficial.
