Job summary

This PhD scholarship focuses on developing a technology-agnostic control architecture for hybrid power plants (HPPs) to enhance their performance and integration into future renewable energy systems. The role involves modeling, theoretical analysis, and simulation-based validation of control methods, contributing to the transition towards sustainable energy generation.

Qualifications

  • Must not hold a doctoral degree at the time of recruitment.
  • Less than four years of full-time research experience after the qualifying degree for PhD studies.
  • Must not have resided or conducted main activities in Denmark for more than 12 months in the last 36 months.

Responsibilities

  • Model and develop a control architecture for utility-scale HPPs.
  • Identify challenges related to dynamic performance and grid service provision.
  • Develop a simplified HPP controller and address interoperability issues.
  • Publish research findings in reputable journals and present at scientific conferences.
  • Assist in co-supervising MSc theses and provide limited teaching assistance.

Skills

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.

Education

  • MSc degree in a relevant field.

Tools

  • Simulation tools for modeling and validation of control systems.
