WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE
This role reports to the Senior Director for Oncology External Communications. This is a Senior Manager or Director role and will lead the global and US communications strategies and implementation for Pfizer’s prostate cancer portfolio, including three approved medicines (XTANDI, in partnership with Astellas; TALZENNA; and ORGOVYX, in partnership with Sumitomo Pharma) and pipeline candidates, primarily mevrometostat (EZH2i). In this role, they will also work closely with the colleague leading bladder cancer communications to further the reputation of Pfizer in genitourinary cancers among key stakeholders.
This colleague will work closely with Pfizer cross-functional colleagues to develop and implement external communications plans to support data, clinical and regulatory milestones, issues management, disease awareness, scientific/pipeline communications and more. This colleague will have a flexible role and be able to provide support across the Oncology portfolio on an as needed basis, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute to Pfizer’s ambitious goals in Oncology.
HOW YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT
Leads the development and execution of strategic communication plans for the three approved prostate cancer medicines and our pipeline assets in close coordination with Pfizer cross-functional team and Alliance counterparts.
Serves as communication business partner for Astellas and Sumitomo Pharma, as well as the internal prostate cancer cross-functional team.
Supports the development of core external communications materials such as press releases, Q&A, statements, fact sheets, talk points, slides, etc.
Supports scientific communications specific to prostate cancer, including key pipeline assets.
Works cross-functionally on unbranded disease awareness campaigns for patient audiences, including social/digital and influencer campaigns.
Collaborates with the public affairs and patient advocacy teams on partnerships and communications with patient advocacy organizations.
Supports issues management needs.
Manages the day-to-day work of external agencies as it relates to external communications.
Partners with public affairs, media relations and IR colleagues as needed.
Leads and manages all product review committee processes to ensure communications strategies and materials are compliant.
Collaborates with Country Communicators to ensure messaging for brands is consistent and that they have the appropriate support for key initiatives (e.g., issues, product launches)
QUALIFICATIONS
Must-Have
BA/BS in communications or related field with 6+ years of experience.
Seasoned communications professional in the pharmaceutical industry with experience in global product communications, media relations or public relations.
Experience in Communications and/or PR required.
Experience in developing, leading and implementing communications and public relations plans.
Demonstrated track record of leadership project management, organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written, oral, communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop, implement and measure success of PR and communications plans.
Information Technology literate, including good PowerPoint skills.
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
Nice-to-Have
MBA/MS with 5+ years of experience; OR PhD or JD with 1+ years of experience.
Ability to work effectively across functions and levels across highly matrixed organization and manage multiple projects against tight deadlines.
Ability to work closely with Pfizer leaders, demonstrating poise and executive presence.
Self-starter, able to work independently and as a part of a geographically diverse team.
Ability to assimilate strategic information and convert it into clear and concise messages.

Secondment 6-9 months
