This newly established department consists of 7–10 specialists based at Site Avedøre. We are responsible for driving CAPEX projects and serve as a technological frontrunner by piloting innovative solutions, including advanced sensors, water removal systems, and robotics. Furthermore, the department manages complex, cross-functional projects that ensure organizational alignment – all as an integral part of the Novonesis 'Future Factory' strategy

The Role & Your Impact

As a Senior Technology Specialist, you will sit at the intersection of biotechnology and large-scale industrial production – transforming biological potential into operational excellence. You will not only monitor processes but push the boundaries of microbial performance, sustainability, and efficiency. In this role, you will convert complex data into meaningful insights that enable our next generation of innovations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Driving optimization projects from concept to completion
• Designing, planning, and executing experiments at production scale
• Monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting complex process data using advanced analytical tools
• Evaluating new technologies and methods to support innovation
• Creating and maintaining thorough and accurate experimental documentation
• Collaborating cross-functionally to align technical execution with Novonesis’ strategic direction

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

(Must-haves)

• Master’s degree in biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Microbiology, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the food or pharma industry
• Understanding of industrial-scale production equipment (hands-on experience beneficial)
• Knowledge of scale-up/scale-down principles and bioprocess engineering
• Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., JMP or Python)
• Strong problem-solving skills and a structured, data-driven approach
• Experience conducting root-cause analysis
• Strong communication skills in English

Additional Skills & Interests We Value

(Nice-to-haves)

• Hands-on experience with industrial fermentation equipment
• Knowledge of downstream unit operations
• Familiarity with real-time measurement systems or advanced process control
• Experience in fast-paced, innovation-focused environments
