Join our European Technical Service team, where you’ll work closely with colleagues in Sales & Marketing to provide world-class technical support and innovative solutions to customers across the region.

You’ll be part of a collaborative team of ~15 colleagues—a mix of Scientists and Research Associates—working across disciplines to help customers succeed and to support Novonesis’ purpose through impactful biosolutions.

The Role & Your Impact

In this role, you’ll play a key part in inspiring customers and prospects to engage in testing Novonesis’ biosolutions—identifying needs that can develop into strong sales opportunities. Working in close collaboration with Sales, you will initiate and lead technical activities that help execute those opportunities.

You will also collaborate with Application Research, Sales, and Marketing to launch and support innovative products and services that drive growth—while strengthening our technical credibility and customer partnerships in the animal- and marine-based ingredients space.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Sales colleagues to engage customers and prospects, inspire testing, and uncover new business needs and opportunities.
  • Initiate, plan, and lead technical activities (e.g., customer trials, evaluations, and onsite troubleshooting) to support the execution of sales opportunities.
  • Contribute to the launch and support of innovative products and solutions in collaboration with Application Research, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Drive structured experimentation, data analysis, and technical documentation to support decision-making and recommendations.
  • Deliver technical training and presentations, both internally and externally.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

Must-haves

  • Strong scientific foundation with a university degree (M.Sc. or PhD) in chemical or process engineering (or a closely related field).
  • Experience with process design and process optimization related to the industrial processing of raw materials and side-streams coming from the food industry, including the marine industry.
  • High level of scientific confidence and experience with experimental design and data analysis to generate actionable conclusions.
  • Strong customer and business orientation, with a strategic and commercial mindset to assess new business opportunities critically.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills—able to operate effectively in a network-based environment.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings and trials (frequent travel is part of the role).

Additional Skills & Interests We Value

Nice-to-haves

We value leadership capabilities and the ability to positively influence technical colleagues, both internally and externally. Finally, a strong team-oriented mindset combined with an opportunity-driven and proactive approach to collaboration and problem-solving will be highly appreciated.

What We Offer

The position offers close, cross-functional collaboration with colleagues across Technical Service, Sales, Marketing, and Application Research in an international setup. You will join a team culture that values curiosity, knowledge-sharing, and pragmatic execution. At the same time, the role provides strong opportunities to further develop both your technical depth and commercial understanding while working with leading customers and innovative biosolutions.
