Join us as our new Senior Scientist in Household Care Applied R&D

We offer a unique senior scientist position combining knowledge of proteins and enzymes with the complex interplay between detergent ingredients. In this role, you will combine your professional understanding of detergent ingredients, enzymes and formulation interactions with hands-on application testing to develop the next‑generation biosolutions. Your work will be directly linked to customer needs and together with research scientists and lab technicians you will play an important role identifying the right enzymatic solutions of the future.

We are part of Household Care Applied R&D developing biosolutions to improve the laundry experience for millions of consumers around the globe. We put an honor in understanding both the properties and requirements of our enzymes as well as each step of the laundry process to develop the next detergent enzyme. Our department consists of 21 scientists and technicians working closely together with colleagues from upstream R&D, technical service and marketing.

In this role you’ll make an impact by:

• Planning and executing lab work such as wash experiments, stability tests, reformulation trials and mechanistic evaluations of detergent systems

• Using your analytical skills to develop new assays and convert lab data into useful insights to advance our enzyme projects across the Household Care industry

• Investigating the interplay of enzymes with detergent ingredients such as surfactants, polymers, builders

• Improving our ways of working by establishing efficient data flows, improving data processing and simplifying lab work by lab automation

• Collaborating with different colleagues and stakeholders to get the most from our joint effort

Potentially relevant experience:

• MSc degree in engineering, chemistry, biochemistry or related field; potentially combined with a PhD

• 3-5 years of experience from industry e.g. within Detergent, Food, Personal care or similar field

• A strong understanding of complex formulations in an applied science context e.g. application research, formulation development or technical support. Experience within protein and/or enzyme chemistry is an advantage

• Competent in planning and executing laboratory experiments in collaboration with highly skilled lab technicians

• A true digital mindset; preferably with experience in advanced data treatment, automation and/or scripting

• A strong personal drive as well as a flair for collaborating and communicating with different colleagues and stakeholders
