As part of Business Finance Operations, the Production Europe Finance Partnering team acts as the financial copilot to Production leaders across the region. We provide the financial backbone for decisions, drive transparency, and help turn insights into actions that strengthen performance and competitiveness. 
You will join a highly collaborative team supporting major European production sites, working closely with Global operational stakeholders and enabling efficient, reliable, and sustainable manufacturing across Novonesis. 

 

The Role & Your Impact 

 

In this senior finance partnering role, you will operate across operational, tactical, and strategic dimensions - owning the full financial performance cycle for Production Europe while shaping investment decisions, operational priorities, and value creation opportunities. You will be a trusted advisor to Production and Finance leadership, influencing outcomes across multiple functions and sites. 

 
Another crucial part of your impact is people leadership: you will lead and develop a team of finance partners/plant controllers (approx. 6 FTE) and coordinate a broader virtual finance network across Europe and globally, ensuring highquality deliverables and strong collaboration. 
 

 

Your key responsibilities include 

  • Leading the Production Europe financial wheel: monthly performance reviews, rolling forecasts, annual budget and BRM/BGT deliverables, and CAPEX business cases. 
  • Expertise in Product Costing, Standard Costing and variance analysis 
  • Acting as a strategic sparring partner - bringing factbased insights, challenging assumptions, and prioritizing actions to achieve area targets. 
  • Driving crosssite transparency, value creation, and continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and promoting standardization and best practices. 
  • Leading and quality assuring business cases (incl. CAPEX & resource allocation), scenario modelling, risk assessment, and recommendation development with clear follow-through. 
  • Strengthening governance across Operations and Finance by aligning ways of working, ensuring role clarity, and representing a coherent group perspective. 

 

What You’ll Need to Be Successful 

  • Master’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or similar. 
  • 8+ years of relevant experience (plant controlling, FP&A, regional finance partnering). 
  • Strong capabilities in budgeting & forecasting, cost accounting, standard costing, performance management, and investment appraisal. 
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; experience with ERP/BI systems (SAP CO-PC strongly desired, Power BI or similar). 
  • Fluent English (written and spoken). 
  • Strong analytical judgment, business acumen, and the ability to translate financial insights into practical actions. 
  • Proven stakeholder management skills and the ability to challenge constructively. 
  • A leadership mindset with experience coaching and developing team members.

  • Familiarity with continuous improvement tools or operational excellence methodologies. 
  • Additional European languages.

Ways of Working / Working Conditions  

 

  • Hybrid working setup with regular presence at your primary base location. 
  • Flexibility outside peak cycles, balanced with strong collaboration during monthend, forecasting, and BGT/BRM periods. 
  • Periodic travel (approx. 10–25%) to production sites and stakeholder meetings across Europe.
