We are looking for a strategic and business-oriented Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead our global security agenda. You will drive the cyber security strategy across IT and OT, strengthen our overall cyber resilience, and help ensure that Novonesis can provide strong assurance to customers, partners, and leadership on our security posture and operational resilience.

This role is critical to protect Novonesis, strengthening customer trust, and ensuring we remain a secure, resilient, and reliable partner to the global customers who depend on us. You will be responsible for safeguarding Novonesis’ most important assets, overseeing security risks, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements, and regularly updating Executive Leadership, the Audit Committee, and the Board of Directors.

You will report to the CIO and is a member of the Novonesis IT Leadership Team.

In this role you’ll make an impact by:

Lead the corporate security agenda

• Drive and continuously develop the Novonesis cyber security strategy
• Maintain a strong understanding of the cyber threat landscape relevant to biotech, IT, and OT
• Act as a trusted advisor to IT, OT, and business leadership on security matters
• Partner with the business to identify and protect critical assets, including intellectual property, production, and delivery capabilities
• Lead global security awareness and strategic security improvement initiatives

Strengthen cyber resilience

• Build capabilities across identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover
• Ensure balanced investment across prevention, detection, response, and recovery
• Oversee security monitoring, vulnerability management, penetration testing, and mitigation planning
• Approve and strengthen security policies, controls, and incident response plans
• Help ensure Novonesis can continue to operate, produce, and deliver through cyber disruption

Provide assurance and ensure compliance

• Support customer confidence in Novonesis’ cyber security posture and resilience
• Assess supplier security against Novonesis standards
• Deliver KPIs and reporting on security performance, risks, and compliance
• Maintain and develop the ISMS in line with relevant frameworks and standards, including ISO27000 and ISA/IEC 62443
• Conduct audits and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal requirements

To succeed you must:

• Proven leadership experience across multiple security disciplines
• Strong expertise in security policy, risk management, and security frameworks
• Experience establishing and managing an ISMS
• A strong understanding of cyber resilience, including the importance of investing not only in prevention, but equally in identification, detection, response, and recovery
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with both technical teams and senior stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to lead calmly under pressure
• An MSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• A relevant certification such as CISM
