Danish Centre for AI Innovation A/S - home of Gefion!
Copenhagen, Denmark (Lyngby)

Are you a bachelor’s or master’s student who enjoys working with complex topics, structuring information, and supporting decision-making in a professional environment? Do you want a student role where you are close to management and exposed to national-level initiatives?

We are looking for a Student Assistant to join the Security & Compliance team at the Danish Centre for AI Innovation (DCAI). In this role, you will support the team with analysis, presentations, coordination, and documentation related to how we organize and govern one of Denmark’s most important digital infrastructures. You will work closely with senior colleagues and contribute to materials used for management discussions, external stakeholders, and internal initiatives.

About us

The Danish Centre for AI Innovation (DCAI) is a company dedicated to accelerating AI-powered research and innovation in Denmark. We own and operate Gefion, Denmark’s first AI supercomputer, and provide access to advanced computing capabilities for universities, startups, and large enterprises.

We are a small organization with a flat structure and a young, international team. Decision paths are short, collaboration is informal, and people take ownership of their work. While we support national-level initiatives, our day-to-day environment is hands-on, open, and genuinely fun to be part of.

A typical workday:

As a Student Assistant in the Security & Compliance team, your tasks will vary, but typically include:

  • Preparing and refining presentations and written material used in management meetings and internal discussions
  • Structuring information and documentation related to policies, processes, and internal initiatives in alignment with internationally recognized frameworks
  • Supporting coordination tasks, such as organizing input from colleagues or external parties
  • Researching and summarizing regulatory requirements and external guidance (e.g. EU or national frameworks) in a clear and practical format
  • Taking ownership of selected recurring tasks, including updating documentation, maintaining overviews, and ensuring materials remain accurate an dup to date.

The role is not technical. Instead, it is about understanding complex topics at a conceptional level, asking good questions, and helping structure and communicate information clearly. We operate in a flexible and non-hierarchical way, if you show initiative and want to take on more responsibility, we will encourage it and support you in doing so.

What We’re Looking For

To ensure a strong match, we are only considering candidates who meet all of the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree, or in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree, with at least one year of studies remaining
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to structure and present information clearly
  • Genuine interest in technology and IT infrastructure
  • Fluent in English. Danish is an advantage but not a requirement
  • Available approximately 15-20 hours per week. We are flexible around exam periods and semester transitions.

For this position, we require future employees to go through and pass a background check, which includes verification of criminal records. This position is an on-site role in our office in Lyngby. If there are any questions to the role or DCAI, feel free to contact us at hello@dcai.dk with a “Attention: Sune Mortensen” in the header.
