Senior M365 Architect

Then join our Corporate IT team as our new Microsoft 365 Architect, where you will play a central role in designing, implementing, and continually improving our M365 platform to support collaboration, security, and productivity across the organisations we serve. 

The position 

As our Microsoft 365 Architect, you will take the lead in shaping our modern digital workplace based on the full breadth of Microsoft 365 services. With little to no legacy technology, you will have the freedom to leverage the newest cloud‑native capabilities, informed by industry’s best practices and security frameworks. This role offers a high degree of influence and the opportunity to work closely with decisionmakers to introduce new technology and evolve our platform in line with business needs. 

Corporate IT is a team of 22 professionals supporting the Novo Nordisk Foundation, Novo Holdings, and affiliates counting close to 700 employees globally. Delivering to multiple organisations on a shared platform presents unique architectural challenges and the opportunity to design solutions for a wide range of collaboration, security, compliance, and productivity needs. 

You will be part of a small architecture group working collaboratively across domains. This means you will not be a one‑person army, but part of a team of other architects with similar responsibilities and complementary technical areas. 

The role 

You will report to the Head of Corporate IT and help ensure that our M365 environment is secure, scalable, and aligned with strategic business priorities. 

Your core responsibilities will include:  

• Platform Architecture & Governance 

• Design and maintain a secure, scalable, and well‑governed, compliant and secure Microsoft 365 platform, spanning Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Intune (Endpoint Management), Entra ID, Defender, and Purview. 

• Solution Design & Implementation 

• Act as lead architect for collaboration, productivity, and identity-related initiatives  

• Design and implement collaboration and productivity solutions using SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and related services. 

• Integration & Modern Workplace Development 

• Ensure secure and robust integration between Microsoft 365 services and internal/external systems, including third‑party tools. 

• Stakeholder Collaboration & Advisory 

• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into platform services and architecture. 

• Act as a trusted advisor for newly established companies and internal teams on collaboration solutions, modern workplace technologies, and M365 security and compliance. 

• Continuous Improvement & Innovation 

• Stay updated on new Microsoft 365 capabilities and evaluate their relevance for the organisation. 

• Contribute to automation improvements, service lifecycle management, and operational excellence across the M365 ecosystem. 

• Operational support and improvement 

• Act as escalation point for complex M365 incidents, configuration issues, and design‑related operational problems. 

• Drive increased operational efficiency through automation, simplification and delegation.   

Your work is expected to be carried out primarily from the headquarters in Tuborg Havnevej 19, 2900 Hellerup, Denmark. 

Professional qualifications 

To succeed in this role, we imagine that you:  

• Have extensive experience designing M365 architecture and optimizing operations of Microsoft 365 services. 

• Have a strong understanding of M365 security, compliance, identity and governance concepts and their operational implications 

• Are well versed in modern deployment and automation approaches (e.g., Intune configuration, Conditional Access, PowerShell, CI/CD for M365). 

• Have experience acting as final technical authority and escalation point for the M365 platform 

• Can communicate effectively and can translate complex technology into business aligned‑ solutions. 

• Relevant certifications – such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert – are highly desirable.
