We are looking for an Optical Engineer with hands on preference

The role

We are a looking for a specialist in either fiber or free space optics to join the Products & Automation team.

You will be the product responsible for collimators across our product lines: SuperK and Koheras. You will enforce best practice for collimating fiber lasers and be the in house go to for industrial scale collimation.

You will convert product requirements into test requirements ensuring a robust design. You streamline test flows, initiate reliability studies, and drive continuous improvement for instance qualifying new suppliers.

You will be the product lead in new development projects ensuring consistency with current product portfolio and best practices for manufacturability and reliability - turning new innovations into industrial products.

What do we expect of you?

You have fiber and free space optics experience, in either an academic or industrial setting.

You are proficient in a diverse range of optical lab skills for instance characterization, fiber coupling, imaging, setup design and instrumentation.

You are strong in experimental and device design – and can conduct experiments that enable design decisions.

You perform a thorough data analysis and can make decisions based on data.

  • Master’s degree and most likely a PhD in physics or optical engineering
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is a must.
