Why This Role Is Right for You
As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you’ll join a collaborative and forward-thinking team based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The team builds and evolves Nexi’s modern B.I. data platform - powering analytics, AI-driven products, and commercial decision-making across multiple countries. Your work will directly enable smarter products, faster insights, and scalable AI use cases across the group.

About Your Future Role
In this position, you will:

• Design, build, and evolve a modern cloud-native data platform centered around Databricks, dbt, and a Lakehouse architecture.
• Develop production-grade data and analytics solutions backed up by latest AI/ML solutions available on the market (e.g. MCP servers or multi-agents systems)
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure scalable, secure, and reproducible cloud environments.
• Own the full software lifecycle - from design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Champion modern software engineering best practices (version control, CI/CD, testing, code reviews) and help raise the technical bar across a community of 30+ developers.
• Collaborate closely with analytics engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to turn complex problems into elegant, maintainable solutions.
• Act as a technical sparring partner and mentor, helping spread our modern tech stack and engineering mindset across teams and regions.

Essential Qualifications: 

• Strong experience as a software engineer or data platform engineer, building production-ready systems in the cloud.
• Excellent SQL & data manipulation skills, proficiency in Python, deep knowledge of Spark framework.
• CloudOps experience with one of the major cloud providers - Azure preferably.
• Networking & protocols knowledge.
• Hands-on expertise with Databricks (or similar distributed data platforms) and modern data architectures.
• Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Pulumi, Terraform, Bicep, or similar).

Bonus Skills: 

• Experience enabling or operationalizing AI/ML solutions in a real production context.
• Experience working in large, multi-team or multi-country engineering environments.
• Experience with DBT Labs
• Experience in other programming languages
• A natural inclination to teach, mentor, and influence technical standards beyond your own team.
