Shape the future of payments across the Nordics

The Nordics is arguably the most sophisticated payments market in the world. The region has sophisticated payment schemes and highly penetrated local wallets, combined with high expectations from both merchants and consumers for the payment experience. 

We are seeking a Product Director for the Nordics to shape product direction and drive real revenue outcomes across the region. This is a unique opportunity to be part of senior leadership in both product and commercial teams at one of Europe's most exciting paytech companies. You'll join Nets|Nexi Merchant Solutions at a pivotal moment. Our European merger creates unprecedented scale, where success depends on balancing global efficiency with local needs. 

About your future role

In this role, you'll own the commercial success of our merchant product portfolio across Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland - from online and in-store payment acceptance to merchant portals and partner solutions. You're the voice of Nordic markets in global product decisions and the expert enabling country sales teams to win.

This role sits in a matrix organization. You'll partner with global Product Tower Directors who own product strategy and development, while you own regional market fit, commercial outcomes, and local stakeholder engagement. You'll work directly with the Group CPO, collaborate with global product tower heads, and sit as a peer in regional leadership.

Your key responsibilities:

Commercial Ownership: Drive product adoption, penetration, and merchant satisfaction across Nordic markets in partnership with regional sales leadership.

Market Intelligence & Requirements: Capture Nordic payment market dynamics, competitive movements, and merchant needs. Translate these into prioritized requirements that influence global roadmaps.

Product Localization: Ensure global products meet local market regulations and work effectively in Nordic markets. Coordinate regional adaptations for payment methods, merchant portals, and market-specific needs.

Sales Enablement: Provide product training, RFP support, and technical consultation to help close deals.

Demand Planning: Own demand planning across all product towers, ensuring development capacity aligns with priorities and ROI opportunities.

What makes you the right person for this job?

You're commercially driven. You understand what makes merchants choose one payment solution over another and how to accelerate adoption. You measure success in market penetration, satisfaction, and revenue impact. Whether your background is in product management, sales, or other product/commercial roles, you know how to translate market needs into outcomes.

You're enthusiastic about Nordic payment markets. You're excited to understand the competitive landscape, regulatory environment, and merchant expectations across Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. You're curious about payment methods, scheme rules, and what different merchant verticals need. You probably have deep experience in some of these areas already, and you're eager to build expertise where you have gaps.

You want to enable sales success. You're excited about supporting commercial teams through training, client presentations, or negotiations. You can explain capabilities in commercial terms and help position solutions effectively. You build credibility through responsiveness and knowledge.

You think about localization and ROI. You're interested in learning when to adapt global products for local needs and when to push back. You want to balance merchant requirements with development costs. You're pragmatic about what drives return versus what's just nice to have.

You navigate complexity. Matrix organizations don't intimidate you. Regulatory requirements don't slow you down. You build alignment across competing priorities.

Qualifications needed to be successful in this role:

  • 10+ years in product management, sales, commercial, or related roles within payments or merchant solutions
  • Proven track record driving commercial success - measurable impact on adoption, revenue, or market share
  • Experience working with or in sales organizations - deal support, product positioning, training, or sales execution
  • Understanding of payment markets - you've worked in the industry and know the landscape
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across commercial, technical, and executive audiences
  • Fluent in English (Nordic language skills are a plus but not required)
