Main Responsibilities
You will support the Mechanical Design Team with mechanical documentation and engineering tasks and assist the Process Development Team with designing fixtures for production.
Role Tasks
- Draft mechanical documentation (drawings, specifications, assembly instructions)
- Contribute to minor design updates in SolidWorks
- Perform tolerance analyses and stack-up calculations
- Support fixture design for production (concepts and simple models)
- Prepare Work Instructions, Test Plans, Protocols, and Reports
- Assist with supplier communication on mechanical specifications
- Support ad hoc tasks, including maintaining the workshop and 3D-printer
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and enrolled in a relevant master’s program
- Perform mechanical hand calculations, including stress/strain/deflection analysis; static, dynamic, and fatigue load evaluations
- SolidWorks experience is a strong plus
- Understanding of manufacturing methods, such as plastic moulding and CNC machining, is preferred
