Role OverviewWe are seeking a
Senior Hardware Engineer (m/f/d) to take ownership of hardware development and lifecycle management across our product portfolio. In this role, you will work with a holistic product approach, covering everything from new product development to upgrades, maintenance, and end-of-life management.
You will collaborate closely with software, production, and external development partners to ensure robust, reliable, and manufacturable hardware solutions. The role requires strong experience in device-level engineering, considering environmental factors such as vibration, humidity, and electromagnetic interference.
Key Responsibilities- Drive hardware development for new products, upgrades, and product maintenance
- Manage hardware release process and transfer to production and EMS partners
- Support obsolescence management and end-of-life processes
- Introduce new technologies and components into the product portfolio
- Provide production support and manage EMS transfer, including collaboration with external manufacturing partners
- Ensure robust documentation structures, design documentation, and toolchain management
- Maintain hardware design libraries and active product lists
- Manage hardware laboratory setup, equipment, calibration, and investments
- Collaborate with software teams on hardware/software integration
- Work with external development partners and suppliers
- Ensure products meet durability, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Support type approvals, certification, and compliance documentation
Key Requirements- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related technical field
- Several years of experience in hardware development for complex systems
- Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics and connected devices
- Experience with device-level engineering considering mechanics, vibration, humidity, and EMC/EMI requirements
- Experience working with production interfaces and EMS partners
- Strong documentation and configuration management skills
- Experience with product lifecycle management and hardware release processes
- Understanding of type approvals, certification requirements, and documentation standards
- Holistic product mindset with focus on reliability and durability
- Strong collaboration skills across hardware, software, and production teams
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
