INTERNAL SALES TRAINEE

Do you have an interest in sales, and have you completed - or about to complete - an EUX (business), HHX, STX, or HTX with good results? Do you want to learn sales from multiple angles in an international design company with a passionate and personal culture?

At our waterfront office in Horsens, you will join an energetic workplace with around 100 colleagues. The traineeship runs for two years and combines practical, hands-on experience with formal education. We are flexible regarding the start date of the traineeship.

Being a Trainee at HAY

As a trainee, you are considered a full member of the team and entrusted with responsibility from day one. Your education combines theory and practice, with your daily work based in the Internal Sales department. Theoretical training will take place at a business college of your choosing and depending on your specialisation. You will receive a salary throughout the entire traineeship.

After graduation, you will have gained in-depth insight into our business, and for the right candidate there may be opportunities to continue your career with HAY.

About the Sales Trainee position

As a Trainee in our Internal Sales department, you will handle orders, quotes, and product and delivery inquiries. You will be in daily contact with our wholesale/retail customers and provide support to our external sales colleagues.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administrative support to the Retail Sales team
  • Processing and monitoring orders to ensure accuracy and timely delivery
  • Managing documentation, data entry, and order-related records
  • Coordinating with internal teams (Procurement, Logistics, Finance, Customer Service)
  • Supporting customer communication and follow-ups
  • Preparing sales reports and maintaining up-to-date records for retail customers
  • Acting as a first point of contact for retail customers
  • Escalating complex issues to senior colleagues when needed
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing ideas to enhance team performance and collaboration with external sales

Are you the Internal Sales Trainee we are looking for?

What we expect

  • As a person, you are responsible, independent and service-minded
  • In addition, you are great at reading your surroundings and building relationships
  • You put a virtue into completing the tasks that are given to you

Experience required

  • EUX, HHX, STX, or HTX completed
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 is an advantage
  • Good English skills, both written and spoken
  • Basic German skills, both written and spoken, or a clear interest in using and further developing your German communication skills
