We are looking for a Global Data Acquisition Manager based in Copenhagen, Denmark (hybrid type of work).
Role summary
Milestone Project Hafnia is building the world’s largest compliant and ethically sourced data library for AI model training and Vision-Language Model (VLM) fine-tuning. The Global Data Acquisition Manager will be responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and scaling of global data acquisition programs across multiple industries and regions.
This role is central to ensuring Project Hafnia acquires high-quality, diverse, and legally compliant video and sensor datasets sourced through end customers and partners operating infrastructure and/or existing libraries.
The Global Data Acquisition Manager will combine strong commercial partnership skills, program leadership experience, and a deep understanding of data governance, compliance, and AI training needs.
What you will do
Data Acquisition Strategy & Program Leadership
- Own and drive the global data acquisition strategy to expand Project Hafnia’s AI training data library.
- Define acquisition priorities based on model training needs, customer demand, and market opportunities.
- Develop scalable acquisition frameworks across industries such as smart cities, transportation, airports, ports, retail, logistics etc.
- Establish OKRs/KPIs, reporting structures, and governance for acquisition programs.
Customer & Partner Engagement
- Build and manage relationships with end customers, enterprises, and infrastructure owners operating camera/VMS environments.
- Identify and secure new data sourcing partnerships globally, from initial outreach through contract execution.
- Collaborate with Milestone’s ecosystem partners, integrators, and technology alliances to unlock new acquisition channels.
- Represent Project Hafnia in strategic discussions with senior stakeholders.
Execution & Operational Scaling
- Lead end-to-end execution of acquisition initiatives, including onboarding, technical validation, and data delivery together with the Hafnia Customer Engagement lead.
- Coordinate cross-functional workstreams involving legal, compliance, engineering, and data operations teams.
- Ensure acquisition processes can be repeatable, efficient, and scalable as the library grows globally.
- Manage external vendors or regional acquisition resources as needed.
Compliance, Ethics & Trust
- Ensure all acquired data meets the highest standards for privacy, consent, licensing, and ethical sourcing.
- Work closely with legal and compliance teams to structure agreements aligned with EU AI Act requirements and global privacy laws.
- Maintain clear documentation and audit-ready sourcing trails for all acquired datasets.
- Champion responsible AI data practices in all acquisition activities.
Market & Data Ecosystem Intelligence
- Monitor global trends in AI training data, VLM datasets, and regulatory developments.
- Identify new categories of data supply and emerging acquisition opportunities.
- Provide strategic input into product roadmap and data library positioning.
What you bring to the team
- Strong experience in data partnerships, business development, or strategic sourcing.
- Proven ability to scale acquisition or partnership programs globally.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills, including data licensing.
- Understanding of AI/ML training data, privacy (GDPR), and data governance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Experience with video data, VMS ecosystems, or AI/ML companies (preferred).
- Understanding of emerging AI regulations and global partnership environments (preferred).
