Head of Finance Operations & External Reporting

Miinto • Copenhagen (onsite)

We are looking for a driven Head of Finance Operations & External Reporting to take ownership of financial operations across Miinto’s group entities and ensure seamless, efficient and accurate delivery of our finance processes and regulatory reporting. If you are passionate about building structure, meeting deadlines, and using technology to automate and optimise finance workflows, this is your chance to make a major impact in a dynamic and fast-paced company.

As Head of Finance Operations & External Reporting, you will be responsible for leading our day-to-day finance operations across three teams: Financial Transactions (AR/AP, cash management, booking processes), Partner Finance Operations (partner invoicing and customer revenue processes), and Accounting (reconciliations, controlling, VAT, tax and reporting). A key focus of the role will be taking ownership of regulatory reporting across our 12 legal entities in 9 countries - including annual reporting, corporate income tax, VAT filings, transfer pricing and other statutory/statistical requirements.

Miinto has a streamlined ERP setup by design, and we now need strong processes, models, and governance to ensure smooth reporting and compliance across jurisdictions. This role is critical in ensuring we deliver efficiently and predictably

The position is based at our HQ in Copenhagen and reports directly to the Director of Finance. You will work closely with our Head of FP&A, and together with the Director of Finance form the senior management team of the finance department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership & ownership of financial operations: Lead three teams (combined headcount of 8) through their team leads, ensuring stable delivery, clear ownership, and continuously improving ways of working.
  • Regulatory reporting & compliance: Own and drive regulatory reporting across the group, including group annual reporting, local statutory filings, corporate income tax, VAT filings, transfer pricing deliverables, and other statutory/statistical filings.
  • Group Consolidation: Own the consolidation of financials and preparation of group annual reports.
  •  Audit execution (financial year, Aug-Jul): Ensure an efficient and well-managed audit, including audit readiness, documentation, reconciliations, and audit packs.
  • Local advisors governance: Own the collaboration with local advisors across countries - setting direction, timelines, and quality expectations, while building sufficient in-house understanding to challenge and guide for efficient processes and outcomes.
  • Record-to-report framework: Establish clear governance and a scalable record-to-report setup (process, controls, documentation, cadence).
  • Process and systems optimisation: Continuously improve finance operations and workflows, ensuring we scale efficiently across entities and countries.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience from an internationally oriented finance position with responsibility for delivery, deadlines, and cross-border complexity. Experience with Denmark, Poland and/or Italy is a plus.
  • Cross-border operations & regulatory reporting: Proven experience with regulatory reporting/compliance in multiple European countries (annual reports, VAT, corporate income tax, transfer pricing, and statutory filings).
  • Technical finance profile: Advanced Excel skills and strong experience using tools like Power Query to structure and automate workflows (Power BI/SQL is a plus).
  • Optimization-first mindset: You actively seek and implement opportunities for process improvement, leveraging all available tools, including AI/LLMs, to deliver tangible results (e.g., streamlining reconciliation, enhancing statutory reporting efficiency, automating checklists and documentation).
  • Drive and ownership: Strong sense of ownership and accountability combined with a strong drive to meet deadlines and raise quality across deliverables.
  • Leadership skills: Strong people leadership with a demonstrated ability to lead by example ("show the way") and execute alongside the team when necessary. Able to coach a young, lean team while staying hands-on and close to delivery to model high standards.
  • Problem-solving ability: Proactive and analytical approach to identifying operational bottlenecks and implementing scalable fixes.
  • Language: Fluent in English required; Danish is a plus.

What to expect from us:

  • A vibrant, fun, and fast-paced work environment with occasional social events.
  • A truly multicultural and diverse team.
  • A modern office in Copenhagen with snacks and beverages.
  • A flat hierarchy built on trust and collaboration.
  • Flexibility to manage your time and maximize your performance (office-first, with flexibility).
  • Discounts on Miinto.
