Job summary

The Lead Technical Writer plays a crucial role in developing and delivering high-quality technical documentation for offshore wind projects. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure documentation is clear, consistent, and meets operational needs.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical background in mechanical, marine, or electrical engineering.
  • Experience in offshore wind, offshore construction, or a similar field.
  • Proven experience in planning, coordination, or guiding initiatives.
  • Good understanding of operations and maintenance documentation and strategies.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Structured and proactive mindset with the ability to translate strategy into practical outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Head of Service Documentation to plan and coordinate documentation activities.
  • Guide and support documentation workstreams across projects and operational needs.
  • Contribute to resource planning, prioritization, and continuous improvement of documentation processes.
  • Deliver and maintain high-quality, standardized documentation.
  • Work with Engineering, Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and quality.
  • Support the translation of business needs into clear contractual and supplier requirements.
  • Evaluate supplier deliverables to ensure they meet agreed standards.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of processes and governance.

Education

  • A degree in a relevant technical field such as engineering is preferred.

Tools

  • Familiarity with documentation tools and software used in technical writing.
