If phrases like advanced geophysical systems, cutting-edge hardware systems, and next-generation airborne instrumentation make you curious, keep reading — you might be exactly who we’re looking for.
At SkyTEM, we are looking for a skilled Hardware Engineer, who will contribute directly to the development of next‑generation airborne instrumentation. We are excited to welcome you to the team, where you will play a key role in developing advanced geophysical systems that are used worldwide to map the subsurface with exceptional precision.
Design and develop meaningful systems
As part of SkyTEM, you will be joining a workplace where we believe we truly make a difference in the world. Our technology helps protect groundwater resources, discover minerals, and design infrastructure.
In practice, your new role will involve tasks such as:
Development of PCB designs and PCB layouts
Design and implementation of power electronics
Development and optimisation of ADC conversion systems
Signal processing and analog/digital circuitry
Timing and real-time driver development (embedded/low-level)
Hardware troubleshooting, diagnostics, and prototype testing
Furthermore, you will design and execute experimental tests in a structured and methodical manner to validate hypotheses and drive data-informed decisions. And of course, you will work closely with our mechanical and software engineering teams to make all of this possible.
Drive innovation in hardware systems that map the world below
You will join an innovative engineering environment where technology, collaboration, and curiosity drive everything we build. As part of our team, you will work with cutting-edge hardware systems and contribute to a culture that values expertise, open dialogue, and technical excellence.
Your additional responsibilities will include gaining a thorough understanding of our data acquisition (DAQ) and post-processing workflows. With your “can-do” attitude, you will help build a strong bridge to our Geophysics group, which should be regarded as the internal customer for the equipment we develop. And you will also play a crucial role in technical discussions to ensure that hardware design choices support downstream processing and maintain high data quality.
Technical know-how and personal drive
If you hold a Master of Engineering (or higher) in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field, we look forward to hearing from you. You may have 4–10 years of experience in hardware development and are known for your strong theoretical and academic understanding of physics, with solid fundamentals. With your deep understanding of electronic system behavior and analytical mindset, you thrive working both independently and cross-functionally. A demonstrated ability to plan and conduct experimental testing in a systematic and methodical way is also highly valued for this position.
Experience with RF engineering or radio-related design is an advantage.
Looking for your next challenge in engineering?
We conduct interviews on an ongoing basis and will close the job posting once we have found the right candidate. We therefore encourage you to apply as soon as possible, and no later than April 7th.
We have chosen not to use traditional cover letters in our application process, but we are still very interested in learning what motivates you to apply for this position. Please incorporate your motivation directly into your CV. You can find more information on what this entails here before applying.
If you have any questions regarding this position, please reach out to Peder Lund Rasmussen on email: plr@skytem.com
