We are searching for the best talent for Country Director Denmark, J&J Innovative Medicine.

Purpose:
The Country Director Denmark is accountable for the people, strategy, and business performance of J&J Innovative Medicine in Denmark. Reporting to the Nordic Managing Director, the role shapes and executes the country strategy in alignment with Nordic and enterprise priorities, driving sustainable growth, strong market access outcomes, and long‑term value creation. As the most senior role in Denmark, the Country Director represents J&J Innovative Medicine in Denmark and holds legal responsibility for the company’s business activities in the country.

You will be responsible for:

1. Strategy & Business Performance

  • Define and execute the Denmark country strategy aligned with Nordic and enterprise strategy
  • Set ambitious goals, make strategic trade‑offs, and allocate resources to drive sustainable growth
  • Own and deliver on the country P&L, Business & Tactical Plans, and long‑range financial plan

2. Market Shaping & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain key customer relationships in the respective country
  • Serve as senior external representative to healthcare authorities, regulators, customers, media, industry associations, and partners
  • Shape the external environment by driving the debate on market access, innovation, and the value of health

3. Organizational Development

  • Lead and develop a high‑performing organization with the capabilities to deliver short‑ and long‑term objectives
  • Ensure a customer-centric and efficient organizational design, talent development, and succession planning
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous development

4. Credo Leadership

  • Role model and drive the J&J Credo values and leadership behaviours at all levels in the organization.
  • Actively contribute as a member of the Nordic Leadership Team with an enterprise mindset
  • Lead the Local Leadership team with integrity, transparency, and courage, and contribute to the local convergence council / cross sector alignment

5. Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Hold legal responsibility for J&J’s operations in Denmark
  • Ensure compliance with ethical and legal requirements and company policies
  • Proactively manage business, reputational, and compliance risks

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Academic degree in a relevant field required; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in business, functional and/or general management roles. Prior GM experience an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills in English required. Danish, Norwegian or Swedish an advantage.
  • Demonstrated full P&L ownership, including revenue growth, cost control, investment prioritization, and long‑range planning.
  • Experience acting as legal entity head or statutory board member, with responsibility for governance, statutory obligations, and risk oversight.
  • Extensive experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or similarly regulated industries.
  • Strong enterprise leadership, aligning country strategy with regional and global priorities.
  • Track record of leading cross‑functional leadership teams, organizational development, and talent succession.
  • Strong customer focus, experience with building strong key account management, and demonstrated track record in building external networks and partnerships.
  • Strategic thinking with strong analytical skills, experience in complex market access environments desired.
  • Senior experience operating in highly regulated environments, with accountability for compliance, ethics, and reputational risk.
  • Credibility and experience engaging with government authorities, regulators, industry associations, and external stakeholders; high proficiency in English, Nordic language an advantage.
