We are looking for Senior Optical Engineers to join our R&D team. Our output is state of the art laser products for a wide range of applications spanning from Bio-imaging to Sensing and Quantum Computing. We focus on maturing complex ideas into  products and do so in a project driven environment. Hence, we need people with an affinity for going all the way to finished products and working in teams across disciplines.

The role

As a Senior Optical Engineer, you will design, build, and validate laser systems. You will collaborate across disciplines to go from concept demonstration in a lab environment to manufacturing.  You will join a team of highly talented and motivated colleagues working in the crossfire between cutting-edge technology and high-quality product development.

To do well in this role, we imagine that you:

  • Have a strong background in photonics with hands-on experience in high-power fiber lasers and free space optics, from either industry or academia.

  • Demonstrate strong capabilities in experimental and device design - and can conduct experiments that enable design decisions

  • Have solid laboratory skills

  • Possess natural curiosity, creativity and are driven by figuring out the unknown

  • Collaborate effectively in both small and large project teams, working with members from different technical and cultural backgrounds

  • Have a strong educational background in lasers, optical engineering, or physics; a PhD is considered a strong advantage.

  • Communicate fluently and professionally in English
