Optical Engineer with optical fiber experience

The role

We are a looking for a specialist in fiber optics to join the Products & Automation team.

You will be the product responsible for fiber cables, guiding the technical direction and ensuring our products create real value for our customers. You will work closely with colleagues across development, product marketing, production, service, and supply chain — and you will play a key part in creating clarity, alignment, and shared success.

You will convert product requirements into test requirements ensuring a robust design. You will shape and streamline test flows, initiate reliability studies, and drive continuous improvement for instance qualifying new suppliers.

As product lead, you ensure new developments align with our portfolio and follow best practices for manufacturability and reliability -turning innovation into scalable products. You foster strong collaboration and clear communication across the organization to keep everyone aligned.

You likely bring:

You bring experience with fiber optics and free‑space optics, from either industry or academia.
You are comfortable in the optical lab and skilled in areas such as characterization, fiber coupling, imaging, setup design, and instrumentation.
You have a strong experimental mindset and can design and run experiments that guide engineering decisions.
You analyze data with care and make clear, well‑founded decisions based on your findings.

  • Master’s degree — and preferably a PhD — in physics, optical engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong written and spoken English skills.
